JOIN OUR BETA…we are seeking 15 pilots!

About BrightGame

The purpose behind our development is to help teachers and educators practically collaborate to create, share and deploy serious learning games.

Serious learning games are in demand by educators who want to help learners experience real world scenarios, either for placement preparation, vocational training or to share work practices.

While there are alternative technologies they are simply light on learning depth (such as quiz platforms), or very expensive and impractical to re-edit or use for group learning (like VR).  The sheer cost of VR developments and level of expertise and time required means corporates let alone educational institutions struggle to effectively implement VR.

We take the best from both worlds and your games are created using sophisticated platform that does all the heavy lifting.  All you need to do is bring your knowledge and understanding of a real-world process, actions and consequences, and the platform will turn this into a game for you. You don’t need to know anything about gamification or game design.

What is the BETA about?

The team are currently rolling out the innovative game creation platform to test functionality with forward thinking organisations and early adopters. The new developments were supported by Innovate UK DCMS funding and include collaborative game creation, multiplayer and player group (cohort) management and reporting.

Following early builds for Enginuity (a major awarding body), and GKN Aerospace, the BrightGame beta has already been joined by East Durham College, the Centre for Process Innovation (CPI), StickTheory (A change management and culture advisory), and nesma (a marketing training company).

What is the offer?

The team are now offering 15 pilots to Institutions, learning organisations and profile brands with a view to learn from each other and build a toolset that can be used for sharing best practice, reinforcing learning, knowledge checking and formative assessment.

Be one of the very first brands to create a BrightGame in our Beta!  SkillsPlay, the team behind the BrightGame are offering advice, coaching, design support in using the platform to create applied vocational learning games.

You will receive a stand-alone digital game, fully branded to your organisation with your bespoke gameplay and content.  Resultant games will be deployed through a webGL link to your own web estate!  In addition, the game will be added to your account on the BrightGame platform where you can copy, edit your game, schedule gameplay events, launch via shortcode, QR and Google classroom; as well as manage and review player cohorts!

Dan from the development team said;

‘There are several conversations ongoing presently with colleges, training providers and learning teams in corporates.  We are keen to support Further Education and identify a few high profile projects to add to our portfolio.

In particular we are keen to build on our work with East Durham College in using the games for formative assessment.  We are currently building T’Level games relating to OCR and NCFE Syllabus.’

What is involved?

The SkillsPlay team will run a few workshops with clients to help them get the most out of the digital game creation process.

Once the game content is created the Skillsplay team will render your game.  Our commitment is to ensure you have a great BrightGame you can deploy to your learning platform or website!

After this you will be able to develop other learning games using your platform licence.

Jack Wilson, Head of Product, Said:

‘We want to ensure that our first customers have a great experience with us and realise useful and applicable learning games. We know the experience will also help us refine functionality and the game development Journey’

What is the cost of participating?

The SkillsPlay studio are offering to create games for 50% of the price of a full build service.

The pilots are being offered on non-commercial terms with a request for a small contribution towards costs. With typical custom SLG developments at £20-25,000 and VR/AR developments often costing more, the SkillsPlay team are asking for a contribution of just £8,000 per game including full customisation and design support from the team.
